Coppélia

A toymaker in a small European village has built a life-sized doll so beautiful that a young man named Franz falls in love with it — much to the fury of his fiancée, Swanilda. When Swanilda sneaks into the workshop and discovers the doll isn't real, she hatches a plan to teach Franz a lesson he won't forget. Coppélia is one of ballet's great comedies: playful, fast-moving, and packed with some of the most joyful dancing in the repertoire. This run also marks the farewell performances of Megan Fairchild, one of NYCB's most beloved principal dancers.
