NYCB's biggest night of the year. The Spring Gala is equal parts performance, premiere, and party — a single evening that typically features a world premiere alongside a beloved classic. This year pairs a new work by Tiler Peck (one of the most celebrated ballerinas of her generation, now choreographing) with Balanchine's Diamonds, the crown jewel of the repertoire. Black tie optional, but people dress. The performance is followed by a dinner and dance on the promenade. Even without the gala ticket, the performance alone is one of the season's most electric evenings.
